American Idioms
Quando escrever alguma dica ou informação sobre o idioma tentarei escrever sempre em
inglês.
Acho que quando começamos a estudá-lo o ideal é esquecer o português, sempre ler,
pensar em inglês.
É importante também, não traduzir tudo ao pé da letra, tente buscar o significado e não simplesmente a tradução... Here we go!!
An idiom is a
sequence of words which has a different meaning as a group from the meaning it
would have if you understood each word separately.
Idioms are used in a variety of situations: spoken language, friendly conversations and
business meetings.

Used to emphasize
that someone looks exactly like someone else.

spitting image of his father.
Take your pick

to choose what they like best among several possible things.

Bad hair day
About a day when you
cannot make your hair look attractive and you therefore feel annoyed and ugly,
and often about a day when everything seems to go wrong for you.
