English - White and Blue Collar Workers

I was reading an article in English the other day about the housing market, percentage of owned houses, rented houses and the prices of them in different states of US.

They also talked about two types of workers in US: white and blue collar.

I tried to get the meaning, I imagined some things but at the end I searched for help…

I found out that they called white collar worker a person who works in an office environment.

And the blue collar is a person who does manual labors such as construction, mechanical and maintenance.
